A martyr of the Mexican Revolution.

Gustavo A. Madero, with his brother Francisco I. Madero, was one of the initiators of the fight against the tyrant Porfirio Diaz.

Gustavo was born in 1875 in the property of the Rosary, in the state of Coahuila, in a rich family , who had many propierties in the Nuevo León and Coahuila states.

Gustavo To Madero provided the money for the campaign of his brother Francisco, during years 1910 and 1911, by the presidency of the republic.

He carried out a very intense a political activity, since he was the founder of the " Partido Constitucional Progresista " (Progressive Constitutional Party), that was competing against the regime of Porfirio Diaz. He also was member of the House of Representatives, he had a great influence in the decisions of government of his brother Francisco, when he assumes the presidency of the republic, and he was ambassador of Mexico in Japan in the year of 1913.

When Gustavo return to Mexico he is witness of the rebellion armed against the government of his brother on the part of generals Manuel Mondragón, Felix Diaz and Bernardo Reyes.

The rebellious army seizes of National Palace in the military quarter named like "the Ciudadela" where 10 days of fight pass, period that is known like " La Decena Trágica " (The Tragic Ten), which conclude with the overthrown of the president Ignacio I. Madero.

February 17th Gustavo A. Madero is kidnapped, when he leaving a restaurant, and taken to the Ciudadela where he is tortured and finally assassinated next day at dawn.
